Forget a wireless network

If you are having wireless connectivity issues, you may need to forget a wireless network as part of the troubleshooting process. Here's how.

Instructions

Windows 10

  1. Select the Wi-Fi network icon on the right side of the taskbar, then select Network & Internet settings
  2. Select Wi-Fi , then select Manage known networks
  3. Select the network you want to forget, then select Forget

Windows 11

  1. Click the Start button, then Settings, then Network & internet
  2. Select Wi-Fi, then select Manage known networks
  3. Select the network you want to forget, then select Forget

macOS Ventura or later

  1. Click Apple icon then System Settings
  2. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar
  3. Scroll down on the right and click Advanced to see the networks known to your Mac
  4. Click the more button (...) next to the network, choose Remove From List, then click Remove to confirm

Earlier versions of macOS

  1. Click Apple icon then System Preferences
  2. Click Network
  3. Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar
  4. Click Advanced to see the networks known to your Mac
  5. Select the network, then click the remove button (–) beneath the list
  6. Click Remove to confirm
  7. Click OK, then click Apply
