This article explains how to sign in to University of Maine System (UMS) websites using the new Single Sign-On (SSO) experience powered by Microsoft Entra.

INFO: This article refers to the new Microsoft login screen that will be introduced on May 15, 2026.
Instructions
- Go to a UMS website that requires an SSO login (such as mycampus.maine.edu or courses.maine.edu)
- When prompted to sign in, you will be redirected to the UMS SSO login page.
- In the Sign in field, enter your full UMS email address.
- Make sure to enter your full email address. For example: user.name@maine.edu
- Click the Next button.
- On the Enter password screen, type your UMS password.
- Click the Sign in button.
- When the Verification Required screen appears, click the Continue button to proceed to multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- If you already have MFA enabled, complete the Duo MFA verification using your configured device.
- If you have multiple MFA options listed, select Approve with UMS MFA to launch Duo.
- After successful verification, you will see a confirmation screen and will be signed in to your UMS account.
Recognizing the Correct Login Page

The correct UMS SSO login page has the following features:
- The UMS logo (Maine's Public Universities) at the top of the login box
- A gray footer section with links to accounts.maine.edu and itsupport.maine.edu
- A Sign-in options button at the bottom of the page
- The web address includes login.microsoftonline.com
INFO: The UMS Single Sign-On page is hosted by Microsoft and may briefly redirect before sending you to Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to verify your identity.
WARNING: Do not enter your credentials if the page does not match the description above or if the web address does not include login.microsoftonline.com.
Resetting Your Password
If you cannot sign in or have forgotten your password, click Can't access your account? on the sign-in page and follow the instructions to reset it.
