ChatGPT Edu is an AI tool developed specifically for use in higher education settings. It is available to everyone with an active UMS account, with no additional fees to students or departments. Unlike free versions of ChatGPT, this platform provides access to OpenAI's most capable models, the ability to build custom GPTs for education and operational needs, and data privacy protections — prompts and files are never used to train OpenAI's models. Faculty, staff, and students may use this tool at their own discretion to support teaching, learning, research, and daily operations.
