Description
If you’re unable to complete Microsoft Entra multi-factor authentication (MFA) because you no longer have access to your registered method (for example, you got a new phone, lost your phone, or deleted the Microsoft Authenticator app), you may request a Temporary Access Pass (TAP) from the UMS IT Service Desk. A TAP is a time-limited passcode that lets you sign in and register a new MFA method. It is issued only after identity verification.
TAPs are issued only by phone or walk-up. Requests cannot be fulfilled through email, tickets, or chat.
Required Information
Be prepared to provide the following when calling:
- Your UMS user name (e.g., firstname.lastname) and ID number
- Be prepared to answer verification questions
