This article walks you through signing into your University of Maine System (UMS) account using multi-factor authentication (MFA). MFA adds a second step to signing in, which helps keep your account secure.
Before You Begin
You will need both of the following before starting:
- 💻 The device you are signing in on
- 🔐 At least one MFA sign-in method already set up on your account
If you have not yet set up an MFA sign-in method, visit Add MFA Sign-in Method: Getting Started to get started.
Guided Walkthrough
Use the interactive walkthrough below to follow along step by step. You can also continue to the written instructions below.
- 💻 When prompted, enter your full @maine.edu email address, then click Next.
- 💻 Enter your password, then click Sign in.
- 💻 Your default MFA method will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete authentication. For step-by-step instructions for your method, see:
- 💻 If asked "Stay signed in?" click Yes if you are on your own device.
- 💻 You are now signed in to your UMS account.
