This document outlines how to change your UMS Single Sign-On (SSO) password used for Mainestreet, Gmail, Brightspace, etc.
Instructions
INFO: This process requires your username and password. The password must be either current or recently expired (within the last 180 days). If you do not know this password or it expired more than 180 days ago, use the
Password Recovery option instead.
- Navigate to the UMS User Account Management page.
- Click the “Change your password” link.
- Log in with your current credentials. Expired passwords (less than 180 days old) are accepted.
WARNING: Enter only your username (the part before @maine.edu). Including @maine.edu will result in an error.
- Enter your current (or expired) password
- Type your new password
- Confirm your new password
- Select “Change Password”
- Be aware that the fields you entered will go blank this is normal. Wait for the website to process your request prior to entering any additional information or navigating away from the page. This may take several minutes.
- You will see a message printed on screen advising you of a successfully changed password.
INFO: It may take up to 15 minutes for your new password to take effect.
