MFA Enrollment Error

You may encounter an error when enrolling in Duo, such as one of the following messages:

  • You have one registered device, and no active backup codes. If your registered device is lost or broken, you will not be able to log in. It is recommended that you generate backup codes to avoid disrupting access to your UMS account.
  • You have the following registered devices: Smart Device - Unknown Inactive

Solution

Wait at least 45 minutes, then try enrolling again by following these instructions:
