Determining Which MFA System You Should Use (Entra or Duo)

Use this article to quickly determine whether you're required to enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA), and whether that's through Microsoft Entra or Duo.

Detailed Information

MFA is one of the most effective ways to stop someone from breaking into your UMS account, even if they have your password. For more information, see What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

INFO: All UMS users, including students, are currently eligible to enroll in Entra MFA if they would like to, though it is not yet required for everyone. See "Quick Reference" below to check whether it is required for you.
